Chief George Oguntade (SAN, MCIArb)
Chairman
Chief Oguntade, the Bamofin of Epeland, Lagos State, is a seasoned commercial lawyer and arbitrator with over 30 years of experience. He graduated with honours in Law from the University of Southampton, England, in 1986 and was admitted to the Supreme Court of Nigeria as a Barrister and Solicitor in 1989. In 1998, he obtained a Master’s Degree (LL.M) in Commercial Law from the University of Lagos, Nigeria. Chief Oguntade was appointed a Notary Public in 2003 and was conferred with the rank of Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN) in April 2010 in recognition of his excellence and distinction at the Nigerian Bar.
As the head of the Litigation and Arbitration Services units at his firm, GMO LEGAL, Chief Oguntade specializes in all aspects of commercial litigation at both trial and appellate courts in Nigeria. He is a member of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators (UK) and has served as a co-arbitrator in several multimillion-dollar commercial disputes. Additionally, he has provided legal counsel to both private and public institutions on various infrastructural investment projects.
Chief Oguntade was a member of the Ogun State Judicial Service Commission from 2013 to 2019.
