Bidwell Onyeakosi
Independent Non-Executive Director
Mr. Bidwell Onyeakosi is a results-driven litigation lawyer with 17 years of experience in appeals, criminal defence, civil litigation, children’s and women’s rights advocacy, adoption, due diligence, and company law.
He has extensive expertise in public interest litigation, particularly in seeking compensation for human rights violations. Known as an astute team player, Mr. Onyeakosi is also highly skilled in policy reform advocacy. He was called to the Nigerian Bar in good standing, having graduated with an LLB from Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka (1999–2003) and a BL from the Nigerian Law School (2004–2005).
Mr. Onyeakosi’s experience spans various roles, including with the Legal Defence and Assistance Project (LEDAP) as a public rights defender (2006–2012); as founder of Bidwells Attorneys in 2013; as President of Destiny Solicitors (2016); and as Programs Director of The Inclusion Project (TIP), a non-profit law professionals’ organisation established in 2019. He has also served as a legal consultant to the Chairman of Oru East Local Government Council (2014–2016), an external solicitor/legal consultant for the Owerri Capital Development Authority (2017–present), and Secretary for the Task Force Committee on Relocation and Accommodation of Roadside Artisans/SMEs in Imo State (2017–2020).
His skill set includes leadership, communication, problem-solving, time management, critical thinking, collaboration, and resilience under pressure.
